RAMALLAH, Saturday, April 3, 2021 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian freedom fighters in Israeli jails, one of them sentenced to 16 life terms plus 30 years and the other one life sentence plus 15 years, began today their 20th year behind bars, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
Salim Mohammad Hajji, 48, from the northern West Bank city of Nablus, was sentenced to 16 life terms plus 30 years for his resistance of the Israeli occupation. He has been denied family visits for many years, including from his wife who is unable to visit him on regular basis, and was able to see his son, Omar, for the first time only during one of his trials.
Muhammad Mahmoud Abu Taha, 40, underwent five years of trial before he was sentenced to life plus 15 years for his role in the resistance.
Meanwhile, a third prisoner from Tulkarm, in the north of the West Bank, Ismail Tawil, began today his 19th year in prison and has three more years before his release after he completes his 21-year prison sentence for his role in the Palestinian resistance movement, said the PPS.
