Settlers Break into Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus

NABLUS, December 13, 2012 (WAFA) – Confrontations late Wednesday erupted between Israeli forces and Palestinians after dozen of Jewish settlers, under Israeli soldiers’ protection, broke into Joseph’s tomb, east of Nablus, according to witnesses.

They said that settlers broke into the tomb and performed rituals and prayers under Israeli soldiers’ protection, provoking residents who hurled stones at them.

Forces surrounded the area, closed off all streets surrounding it, and took over several roof tops of Palestinian-owned houses, firing tear gas bombs at the residents.

No injuries were reported.
