USAID`s Celebrates Closing Campaign for Palestinian Women

RAMALLAH – March 25, 2010-(WAFA) - The United States Agency for International Development, today, closed campaign 'I dream to be ...' As part of a celebration of Palestinian women, which is supported by the Agency in the West Bank.

Anna-Maya the campaign's coordinator said, the U.S. agency aims to support equality and equal opportunities for Palestinian women, and that attention to gender in their design and implementation of all programs.

The general coordinator of the agency Adnan Joulani said, today we are celebrating all Palestinian women for their courage and their insistence on building the sate and a better society for them locally and internationally.

Campaign project 'I dream to be ...' in March 2010 appeared under the title of 'strong, independent, creative, I am a Palestinian woman', which supported the women through programs in education, health, humanitarian aid, democracy and good governance, private enterprise, water and infrastructure.

During the past two years the top programs carried out for the U.S. Agency were Project for construction and renovate schools have benefited 4600 students.

 A project researcher and scientist, benefiting 2800, women  had received academic training and opportunities for fellowship programs, and 22 Palestinian female engineer were enhanced in  engineering infrastructure ,they do the design and development roads, water systems and networks and schools in the West Bank, in addition to health projects to take care of maternal, child and mothers, beside  Brest Cancer screening tests.

Finally program of training for female Palestinian journalists on press sophisticated techniques, as well as 2900 women were benefited from the Agency small loans.
