Israeli forces continue closing road near Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, April 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have continued to close road entrances in the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, for the past week.

The head of the village council, Rami Hamamra, told WAFA correspondent that the occupation forces are continuing to block the main road entrance in the al-Mutayna area, at the eastern entrance to the village, which leads to its center, with concrete blocks. They have also blocked the "Krum al-Sharqa" road with earth mounds, in addition to a secondary dirt road in the al-Mashahir area to the west.

Hamamra added that the continued closure of these entrances has negatively impacted the daily lives of residents, hindering their movement. Furthermore, military checkpoints are constantly being erected in the al-Mutayna area, "which is considered the most vital area in terms of commercial activity and a passage for vehicles heading to the town of Nahalin and the village of Wadi Fukin." It should be noted that the main western entrance was completely closed before October 7, 2023.
