PM calls on international community to halt Israeli actions undermining Palestinian institutions

RAMALLAH, April 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa on Tuesday renewed his call for the international community to help halt Israeli actions undermining Palestinian national institutions.

Prime Minister Mustafa made his remarks during a meeting with UK Deputy National Security Adviser Barbara Woodward at his office in Ramallah in the attendance of UK Consul General in Jerusalem Helen Winterton.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa called on the international community to act to help stop such Israeli measures, particularly by intensifying pressure to release withheld Palestinian revenues, alongside mobilizing further political and financial support to bolster the resilience of the Palestinian people and support efforts toward stability in the region.

Prime Minister Mustafa briefed the UK deputy national security adviser on the latest developments, particularly the escalation of colonist attacks, colonial settlement expansion, and restrictions on movement between cities and villages due to checkpoints and metal gates.

They addressed Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and restrictions on the entry of humanitarian, especially food and medicine, into the Strip, which exacerbates the suffering of more than two million displaced people in Gaza.

They discussed ways to step up international efforts to implement UNSC Resolution 2803 and other relevant international resolutions, as well as to advance relief, recovery, and reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

They touched upon steps to expedite arrangements for implementing the transitional phase in a way that would lead to the unification of Gaza and the West Bank under the jurisdiction of the State of Palestine, within a single legitimate system, law, and authority.

The Prime Minister stressed the readiness of the institutions of the State of Palestine to cooperate with various international actors in a manner that contributes to alleviating the Palestinian people’s suffering in the Gaza Strip and safeguarding the Palestinian national project.
