Producer prices in Palestine surge by 22.2% in March 2026

RAMALLAH, April 29, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Wednesday that the overall Producer Price Index recorded a sharp increase of 22.20% in March 2026 compared to February 2026.

According to the PCBS, prices of locally consumed goods from domestic production rose by 23.16%, while prices of exported goods increased by 7.20% during the same period.

The largest increase was recorded in the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector, which rose by 37.16%, driven by sharp increases in fishing and non-perennial crop prices.

The bureau noted significant price rises in vegetables and basic agricultural products, alongside increases in livestock prices, including sheep, cattle, goats, and poultry.

Manufacturing sector prices also rose by 2.20%, driven by higher costs in flour milling products, chemicals, bakery products, and animal feed, despite declines in some oil and glass-related industries.
