JERUSALEM, March 5, 2010 (WAFA)- Member of the Fateh's Revolutionary Council, Dimitri Diliani said today that Fateh will continue to lead defensive efforts to protect Islamic and Christian sanctities especially Al-Aqsa and Ibrahimi Mosques, from Israeli illegal armed unilateral violations.
Diliani denounced Israeli armed troops attacks against worshipers conducting Friday prayers in Jerusalem and Hebron, calling such infringement a calculated instigation at a volatile period to draw violent reaction from the Palestinian people that would provide a political excuse for the right wing government of Israel to escape the newly proposed Arab initiative to re-launch the peace process in the Middle East. He said that it is a collective duty to protect the recently re-launched peace process after months of halt as a result of the continuation of Israeli illegal colonial settlement building in Occupied Palestinian territory including Arab East Jerusalem.
Diliani assured that the Israeli occupation will not succeed in its provocative approach to drag the Palestinian people to reactions that would have a negative repercussions on the PLO's strategy to establish the Palestinian independent state with Jerusalem as its capital through peaceful means. He stressed that our people will not provide a political cover for the Israeli right wing government to achieve its expansionist ambitions, particularly in occupied East Jerusalem.
Diliani pointed out that need to further develop Palestinian mass non-violent resistance, which is led the Fatah movement in cooperation with other PLO factions in Jerusalem, Hebron, Bil'in, Ni'lin, Al-Ma'sara, Beit Jala, and other sites with daily peaceful protest engagements with the Israeli Occupation Army, is the best answer to the Israeli ideologically driven violent offensive against the Palestinian people.
