RAMALLAH, Tuesday, December 17, 2019 (WAFA) – The Israeli authorities demolished a home in al-Khader town near Bethlehem, razed agricultural land in the south of the West Bank as Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian homes in the north of the West Bank, said the three Palestinian Arabic dailies on their front page of today’s issue.
Al-Quds said Jewish fanatics are getting ready to break into Al-Aqsa Muslim holy compound in Jerusalem’s Old City in large numbers during the upcoming Jewish Hanukah holiday and hold worship prayers, raising concern of possible outbreak of violence.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida highlighted on its front page statements by the presidential spokesman that holding elections in occupied East Jerusalem is not negotiable.
It said Fatah has condemned Hamas position that calls for holding election without Jerusalem.
It also said that after Luxembourg, Ireland is calling on the European Union to stand up for Israeli annexation plans of the occupied Jordan Valley.
Al-Quds said a United Nations anti-racism committee accused Israel of practicing apartheid against the Palestinians in Israel and those in the occupied territories.
It said the Emir of Qatar met in Doha a Hamas delegation headed by the movement’s leader Ismail Haniyeh.
It said the Jerusalem District Electricity Company held the Israeli electricity company fully responsible for the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the areas it serves due to the Israeli company’s continuous power cut for several hours in these areas.
Al-Ayyam said Fatah Central Committee is going to meet today and its Revolutionary Council tomorrow to discuss reviving the popular resistance in the occupied territories.
It said the factions in Gaza have decided to the March of Return protests to national days only starting March and not every Friday as has been the case since March 30 of last year.
It also said the government decided to shut down 120 university academic programs and introduce 60 new ones.
The papers also reported on the situation in Iraq, Lebanon and the United States.
