RAMALLAH, June 12, 2025 (WAFA) – The internet and telecommunications services have been gradually restored in the central and southern war-battered Gaza Strip, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced on Monday.
The TRA said in a press release that technical teams managed to repair the failures of the telecommunications infrastructure as a result of the deliberate recurrent targeting by the Israeli occupation forces in the course of the genocidal aggression, making it possible to gradually restore the Internet and telecommunications services in the central and southern Strip.
It slammed the Israeli deliberate assaults against the Internet and telecommunications infrastructure as a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws and a direct threat to the continuity of vital services desperately needed during such harsh humanitarian conditions in the Strip.
It called on the international community, including international human rights organizations, to immediately intervene to halt Israel’s assaults and acts of sabotage of the Internet and telecommunications network, ensure the protection of technical teams, and facilitate safe access to malfunctions and blackouts.
Since the onset of its genocidal aggression on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Israel has intensively bombed internet and landline services throughout the Strip and denied the entry of fuel necessary to operate the electrical generators, resulting in blackouts.
