LONDON, October 4, 2026 (WAFA) – The UK Green Party officially adopted an anti-Zionist stance today, Sunday, after party members voted during its annual conference in Brighton on a motion declaring Zionism to be a form of racism, in what was described as a “historic” move in British politics.
The motion, put forward by the Greens for Palestine group within the party, secured 1,022 votes in favor and 813 against, making it official party policy.
The resolution outlines the party’s opposition to Zionism and reaffirms its commitment to supporting Palestinian liberation and the right of return for Palestinians.
It also endorses the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, calls for a comprehensive arms embargo on exports to Israel, and condemns Israeli war crimes.
