HEBRON, October 4, 2026 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation forces today installed an open/shut iron gate in the al-Zahid area of the Old City of Hebron.

Hebron Mayor Yousef al-Jaabari said the occupation forces are continuing to tighten the siege on the Old City by installing additional gates that have separated its neighborhoods from one another, further restricting residents' movement and reinforcing control over the Old City and the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Al-Zahid is a vital area connecting several neighborhoods and streets in the Old City and serves as a route and access point to the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The municipality called on international and human rights organizations to urgently intervene to halt these measures and confront colonial plans targeting the heart of Hebron and its Old City.
