Israel vs. Iran: 224 Iranians, 19 Israelis killed

RAMALLAH, June 16, 2025 (WAFA) -The Iranian Ministry of Health confirmed early Monday that the death toll from Israeli attacks on Iran had risen to 224, with more than 1,000 injured, since the start of the military escalation last Friday.

The head of the Ministry of Health's Public Relations and Information Center, Hossein Kermanpour, said in a social media post that the total number of dead and injured had reached 1,481, including 1,277 who were transferred to university hospitals for treatment, according to Mehran News Agency.

Kermanpour explained that more than 90% of the injuries were recorded among civilians.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported Monday morning that four people were killed and 103 others were injured in Iran's latest missile attack on Israel.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that at least 103 people were hospitalized as a result of the Iranian missile attack on various areas of Gush Dan (within Greater Tel Aviv). Two of them were in critical condition, seven others were in moderate condition, and the rest were in minor condition.

At dawn on Friday, with tacit support from the United States, Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran with dozens of fighter jets, bombing nuclear facilities and missile bases in various areas and assassinating prominent military leaders and nuclear scientists.

On the evening of the same day, Iran began responding to the attack with a series of ballistic missile and drone strikes.

According to Anadolu Agency, the attacks occurred 11 times.

As of Sunday evening, the strikes had left approximately 19 dead and more than 450 injured, as well as significant material damage to buildings and vehicles, according to the Israeli Ministry of Health and Israeli media.
