JERICHO, June 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces tightened their military measures on Monday morning at the entrances to Jericho city and its surrounding areas.
WAFA correspondent reported severe traffic congestion at the “Yellow Gate” checkpoint east of Jericho, where vehicles were subjected to thorough inspections upon entry and exit. Meanwhile, the "DCO" checkpoint south of the city also experienced heavy traffic due to intensified Israeli checks.
Further restrictions were imposed at the “Hay’ah” and “Banana” checkpoints, where occupation forces carried out extensive searches of citizens and their vehicles, significantly hindering freedom of movement.
Additionally, the Israeli military closed the Al-Taybeh gate, which connects the Ramallah and Jericho governorates.
These measures are part of the occupation’s ongoing policy of restricting Palestinian movement across the West Bank, including Jericho and the Jordan Valley.
