GAZA, June 16, 2025 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) confirmed a renewed outage of fixed-line and internet services in the southern and central Gaza Strip, due to ongoing damage to the telecommunications network infrastructure amid the ongoing escalation in the field.
The TRA confirmed in a press release on Monday that it is closely monitoring the situation with the telecommunications companies providing the service and is assessing the technical situation on a regular basis, with the aim of supporting efforts to restore service as soon as possible.
It reiterated its call to provide the necessary protection for technical staff and ensure safe access to fault sites, given the utmost importance in ensuring the continuity of vital services, especially in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions facing the Gaza Strip.
Since the beginning of the occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, telecommunications and internet services have been interrupted several times in the Strip or across large areas of it, the most recent of which occurred last week due to intense Israeli shelling or the depletion of fuel used to operate electric generators.
