Elderly Palestinian woman injured by Israeli gunfire south of Khan Younis

GAZA, August 30, 2026 (WAFA) — An elderly Palestinian woman was injured by Israeli army gunfire on Sunday south of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondent reported that the woman was shot by Israeli forces outside areas currently under their direct occupation. No further details were immediately available regarding the nature or severity of her injuries.

Since the ceasefire in Gaza took effect on October 11, 2025, around 1,313 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,361 injured by Israeli attacks, while the bodies of 815 Palestinians have been recovered from under the rubble.

Since the start of Israel’s offensive on Gaza on October 7, 2023, 73,449 Palestinians have been killed and 174,472 injured, according to official figures.
