EU diplomatic delegation visits Qusra to review conditions of besieged Palestinian families

NABLUS, August 30, 2026 (WAFA) — A European Union diplomatic delegation visited the village of Qusra, south of Nablus, on Sunday and reviewed the conditions of Palestinian families who have been under siege by Israeli colonists in the Ras al-Ain area.

Qusra Mayor Abdul Azim Wadi said the delegation went to a hill overlooking the besieged homes and heard an account of the families' suffering, the military checkpoints surrounding the area, repeated colonist attacks on the village, and the difficult humanitarian conditions facing residents.

Wadi called for protection and support for the besieged families, including ensuring uninterrupted access to food supplies, water and electricity, and urged efforts to lift the siege imposed on them.

He added that EU representatives pledged to convey the families’ situation to diplomatic officials in Brussels.

Israeli colonists and forces have maintained a siege on three homes in the Ras al-Ain area for more than three weeks, leaving residents facing water shortages and preventing them from entering or leaving their homes after Israeli forces declared the area a closed military zone.
