SALFIT, August 30, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces on Sunday morning began bulldozing dozens of dunams of Palestinian-owned land in the town of Deir Ballut, in the central West Bank province of Salfit.
Mayor of Deir Ballut, Jihad al-Qasim, told WAFA that Israeli forces, accompanied by three military bulldozers, stormed the Abu al-Rayat area west of the town and began leveling dozens of dunams of land.
The land clearing comes amid ongoing efforts to seize Palestinian agricultural land, impose new realities on the ground, restrict farmers’ access to their land, and prevent them from cultivating and benefiting from it.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli colonists carried out a record 798 attacks in July, killing seven Palestinians in the Nablus and Ramallah governorates. The number of colonist attacks since the beginning of 2026 has reached 4,286.
During July, Israeli authorities also issued 33 military orders, including 31 new land seizure orders targeting 830.917 dunams of Palestinian land. They carried out 80 demolitions affecting 165 structures, including 80 inhabited homes, eight uninhabited homes, 63 agricultural structures, and 11 livelihood facilities, in addition to issuing 34 demolition notices for Palestinian structures.
