Palestinians clash with Israeli soldiers attempting to prevent rally in Jordan Valley town

JERICHO, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 (WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinians suffered suffocation today from teargas fired by Israeli soldiers at them when the soldiers attempted to block access to the Jordan Valley town of Fasayel for people as well as Palestinian cabinet members and other officials attempting to hold a meeting in that town, reported WAFA correspondent.

He said the soldiers attempted to block the Palestinian officials from reaching Fasayel, north of the ancient city of Jericho, where they were planning to hold a special joint cabinet, Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Fatah meeting in defiance of Israeli plans to annex the Jordan Valley.

The soldiers also blocked attempts by Palestinians to reach the area to take part in an anti-annexation rally when the clashes broke out and the soldiers used rubber-coated metal bullets and teargas to disperse the crowds.
