Israeli municipality seizes equipment, uproots trees from a Jerusalemite's land in Silwan

JERUSALEM, June 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Staff from the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem, accompanied by Israeli occupation forces and police, on Monday stormed the land of a Jerusalemite resident in the East Jerusalem town of Silwan and seized equipment and property from the site, said local sources.

Sources said that municipal crews uprooted several trees from the land and confiscated equipment and livestock present at the site, while Israeli occupation forces were deployed throughout the area, providing protection for the operation and securing the seizure process.

Israeli occupation forces imposed strict restrictions around the site and barred residents from approaching as the confiscation and tree uprooting operations were carried out.

Lands and properties belonging to Palestinian residents in Silwan are routinely targeted by Israeli occupation authorities’ measures, including demolitions and land seizures, as part of policies aimed at undermining the Palestinian presence in the town of Silwan, located south of Al-Aqsa mosque.
