Israeli forces prevent construction of water pipeline system near Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, April 15, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Sunday prevented municipality staff in the village of Nahalin, to the north of the city of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank, from working on the construction of a water supply pipeline system, said a local official.

Hani Fonoon, Deputy Mayor of Nahalin village, told WAFA Israeli forces raided the village and prevented the staff from working on a water pipeline system under the pretext of lacking an Israeli-issued permit.

The water pipeline was supposed to be constructed in the area of Wadi Salem to the north of Nahlin town, which is considered the only outlet for urban expansion in the area.

The official said forces further seized all equipment, including a bagger, a goods vehicle, and iron pipes, as well as threatened to detain the municipality staff if construction works were resumed.
