RAMALLAH, June 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists on Monday erected several caravans and sheds on previously bulldozed land in the town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah, where olive trees had earlier been uprooted, according to local sources.
The sources added that the targeted area had been subjected about two months ago to bulldozing operations and the uprooting of olive trees by Israeli occupation forces, noting that the installation of caravans and sheds comes as part of ongoing attempts to impose new colonial facts on the ground, seize additional citizens’ lands, and expand colonial outposts established in the area.
Local sources told WAFA that colonists started installing and assembling caravans and sheds in the town’s plain, near the home of the Abu Awwad family, on lands belonging to residents of Turmus Ayya.
Turmus Ayya has been witnessing a sustained escalation in colonists’ attacks aimed at confiscating more land and expanding pastoral colonial outposts around the town.
The sources further indicated that colonists’ bulldozers had, over recent months, leveled large areas of the town’s plain and uprooted hundreds of olive trees, particularly in the vicinity of the Abu Awwad family home, alongside the opening of colonial roads and the establishment of new outposts in the area.
Colonists had also re-established pastoral outposts in the town’s plain over the past year after their removal, as part of ongoing efforts to impose facts on the ground.
The town and its surroundings continue to witness repeated attacks, including incursions into agricultural lands, preventing farmers from accessing their fields, and the vandalism of property and agricultural trees.
