Colonists attack agricultural lands in Nablus and Ramallah governorates

NABLUS, June 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists on Monday carried out a series of attacks targeting agricultural lands in the Nablus and Ramallah governorates, including setting fire to olive-planted lands and causing widespread damage through livestock grazing and vandalism of trees.

Local sources said that colonists set fire to agricultural lands in the village of Douma, south of the city of Nablus, after closing the western entrance to the village and preventing residents from passing.

The fire caused damage to several olive trees, while residents attempted to reach the area to contain the fire.

The village has been witnessing repeated attacks by colonists, including arson, assaults on property, and obstruction of farmers’ access to their lands.

In the Ramallah area, colonists continued on Monday their attacks on Palestinian citizens’ agricultural lands east of the villages of Taybeh and Rammun, northeast of Ramallah Governorate, through the grazing of camels and sheep among olive trees, causing extensive damage and destruction.

Residents told WAFA that colonists carry out near-daily incursions into agricultural lands in the area, bringing their herds into the fields, resulting in the destruction of trees and crops and inflicting losses on farmers.

They added that a widely circulated video showed a colonist breaking branches of olive trees and using them to feed his herd, in a direct assault on fruit-bearing trees that constitute a source of livelihood for dozens of Palestinian families.

They noted that these actions come amid a surge in colonists’ attacks around the villages of Taybeh and Rammun, which include pastoral colonial grazing, destruction of agricultural property, and preventing farmers from accessing their lands, in an attempt to impose control over wide areas of Palestinian land.

The eastern areas of Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate have recently witnessed a marked escalation in colonists’ attacks, particularly through pastoral colonist grazing, which has increasingly been used as a tool to seize land and displace citizens from their agricultural and grazing areas.
