Israel issues military order to seize land in Deir Abu Da’if, east of Jenin

JENIN, November 3, 2026 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities issued a military order on Tuesday to seize 8.645 dunums of land in the village of Deir Abu Da’if, east of Jenin, under the pretext of using it for military purposes—a new move targeting Palestinian land in the Jenin Governorate.

This action is part of the colonial occupation authorities' expansionist agenda and their efforts to impose new realities on the ground.

Tariq Ighbaria, the official in charge of the settlements file in the Jenin Governorate, told WAFA that the targeted land is located near the "Ganim" settlement—a site where the occupation re-established a settlement outpost several months ago. He noted that this new military order is part of a series of measures targeting Palestinian-owned land in the vicinity of settlements and colonial outposts throughout the governorate.

He added that the occupation authorities frequently invoke military and security pretexts to seize Palestinian land, effectively barring the owners from accessing or utilizing their property. This process paves the way for a new geographical reality that restricts the expansion of Palestinian communities while facilitating colonial growth at the expense of the local population’s land.

The targeting is not limited to Deir Abu Da’if; the Jenin Governorate is witnessing an escalation in military seizure orders, the construction of colonial roads, the leveling of agricultural land, and the uprooting of trees. These actions are part of a broader policy aimed at consolidating control over vast areas of Palestinian-owned land and isolating villages and towns from their surrounding agricultural hinterlands.

These measures are part of an ongoing policy targeting agricultural lands and areas surrounding settlements in the Jenin Governorate; this threatens the livelihoods of local residents, restricts urban and agricultural expansion, and renders increasingly large tracts of land difficult for their owners to access.
