Occupation forces detain young man from Bethlehem, raid Dheisheh refugee camp

BETHLEHEM, November 3, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces detained a young man from the city of Bethlehem on Tuesday, following a raid and search of his family’s home. The forces also entered several neighborhoods in the city, as well as the Dheisheh refugee camp to the south.

Security sources informed WAFA correspondent that the occupation forces detained 18-year-old Thaer Issa Soman after raiding and searching his father’s house in the Al-Fawaghra neighborhood, in the center of Bethlehem.

The sources added that the occupation forces also entered the Al-Ribat Mosque neighborhood, the Jerusalem-Hebron road, Jabal al-Mawalih, and Manger Square (Nativity Square), where they raided and searched several homes; no further detentions were reported.

Additionally, the occupation forces entered the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem. It remains unclear what specific actions were taken, or whether any residents were detained during this operation.

The Bethlehem Governorate frequently experiences military incursions targeting its cities, towns, and refugee camps. These operations often involve the raiding and searching of homes, the detention of residents, the establishment of checkpoints, and the obstruction of movement.
