Education Ministry continues system reforms, finalizes UNESCO quality standards implementation

RAMALLAH, December 3, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian government, through the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, continues to implement the “Education for Development” initiative, which includes developing all components of the educational process, from teachers to the school environment, teaching methods, interactive learning, and the enhancement of educational packages to align with labor-market needs.

The initiative aims to achieve the highest international standards of education quality, foremost among them UNESCO standards.

In line with the directives of President Mahmoud Abbas, the Ministry continues the process of aligning the entire education system in Palestine with the best global quality standards. In this context, a delegation from the Ministry of Education will meet with UNESCO in the coming days to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in developing the Palestinian education system.

Notably, the Palestinian government is making significant progress in implementing the National Development and Reform Program, which includes ten major initiatives, among them the Education for Development initiative.

Various international partners—including the European Commission, the World Bank, and other specialized international institutions—have praised the progress achieved by the government in implementing its reform agenda, which affirms the State of Palestine’s seriousness in advancing its reform and development efforts, particularly in developing the educational system.
