RAMALLAH, 2-3-2026 (WAFA) – reported on Monday evening that all hearings for confirmation, appeals, and pleadings for Palestinian detainees scheduled for this week have been postponed indefinitely, with no new dates set, amid the ongoing state of emergency declared by Israeli occupation authorities.
In a joint press statement, the Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) noted that they have not received any updates regarding administrative detention orders, whether new or renewed. Consequently, any detainee who was scheduled for release yesterday or today but was not freed is deemed to have had their administrative detention automatically extended.
They explained that current sessions before the military courts are limited to detention-extension hearings only, with no other cases being reviewed. All prison visits scheduled for this week have been canceled, with a high likelihood that cancellations will continue into next week.
Regarding petitions submitted to the High Court, the statement said that those filed before the emergency declaration remain pending, with decisions expected in due course. As for new petitions, the courts are only accepting cases considered extremely necessary.
Jamil Saadeh, Director of the Legal Department at the Commission, affirmed that the organization is closely monitoring all legal cases and exerting maximum efforts under these exceptional circumstances to safeguard the legal rights of detainees and ensure that no action is overlooked that could affect their rights.
