RAMALLAH, March 2, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned what it described as an act of organized terrorism carried out by colonists’ militias on Monday in the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus, which resulted in the killing of two Palestinian citizens and the injury of several others.
In a statement issued Monday evening, the Ministry asserted that the policy of ethnic cleansing pursued by the occupation authorities, through killings, intimidation, colonial expansion, land confiscation, forced displacement, and arbitrary detention, constitutes a continuation and perpetuation of the crime of the Nakba, this time carried out in the occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem.
It held the extremist Israeli government fully responsible, along with the armed colonial gangs that it said function as an executive instrument of terror within a broader colonial project aimed at eradicating and forcibly displacing the Palestinian people from their land, as well as undermining the foundations of their steadfastness and survival.
It stressed that the colonial settlement system, which is based on supporting and protecting colonists and ensuring their systematic impunity, encourages them to repeat their attacks in order to normalize racist crimes against Palestinian civilians and to seize more Palestinian geography while diminishing the Palestinian population.
The Ministry called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and move from verbal condemnations to practical, deterrent and binding measures, including the imposition of clear sanctions on the colonial settlement system and its supporters, activating relevant international accountability mechanisms, and providing effective protection for the Palestinian people.
The Ministry affirmed that it will continue to intensify its political, legal and diplomatic efforts in various international forums to pursue those responsible for these crimes and those who stand behind them, ensure they do not escape punishment, and work with international partners to enhance accountability, end the colonial occupation of the land of the State of Palestine, and embody the independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
