RAMALLAH, Thursday, November 12, 2020 (WAFA) – Israel detained 446 Palestinians in October, including 63 minors and 16 women, today said Palestinian prisoners’ advocacy groups.
The Prisoners Commission, the Prisoners Society, Addameer, and Wadi Hilweh Information Center said in a joint report that 200 of these detained were from occupied East Jerusalem, 34 from Ramallah district, 70 from the Hebron district, and 34 from the Jenin district.
They said 37 were from Bethlehem, 27 from Nablus, 10 from Tulkarm, 17 from Qalqilya, two from Jericho, eight from Tubas, two from Salfit, and two from the Gaza Strip.
At least 4500 Palestinians are serving time in Israeli prisons, among them 40 women and 170 minors. There are also 370 Palestinian administrative detainees in Israel.
The groups said 68 administrative detention orders were issued in October by Israel against Palestinian activists, among them 38 new orders and 30 renewal of orders.
