JEC Launches Therapeutic Riding Program

JERICHO, November 20, 2008 (WAFA)- The Jericho Equestrian Club (JEC) announced, Thursday, the commencement of its Therapeutic Riding for the Disabled program which is to take place under the patronage of International Equestrian Federation President Princess Haya Bint Al-Hussein.

This cross-border program has brought together a one-of-a-kind team of equestrian experts, international philanthropists and volunteers from the Middle East and across the world.

The therapeutic riding program is an addition to the JEC’s existing programs for able-bodied individuals of all ages and from different backgrounds.

The JEC was founded in 1994 by late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, as a part of a large youth recreational complex located in Jericho, which also includes a sports field, a botanical garden, and a youth hostel.
