BEIRUT, June 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Four Lebanese citizens were killed on Monday in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in southern Lebanon.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), Israeli warplanes carried out predawn raids on the town of Zefta. One of the strikes targeted shelters housing displaced residents, while other strikes hit areas near the Women's Husseiniya, the junction of the official school, and the center of the town.
Israeli aircraft also launched airstrikes before dawn on the town of Ain Qana. At around 10:00 a.m., warplanes struck the town of Al-Sharqiya, destroying a residential house.
Simultaneously with the air raids, the city of Nabatieh came under intermittent Israeli artillery shelling.
The attacks mark the latest escalation in ongoing hostilities in southern Lebanon, which have resulted in civilian casualties and damage to homes and infrastructure across the region.
