GAZA, June 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that the death toll from the Israeli military offensive has risen to 72,980, with 173,171 people injured since the start of the war on October 7, 2023.
According to the sources, hospitals across the Gaza Strip received the bodies of eight Palestinians killed and 43 wounded individuals during the past 24 hours.
The sources added that the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire announced on October 11 of last year has reached 970, while the number of injuries recorded during the same period has risen to 3,063. In addition, 782 bodies have been recovered from various locations.
Medical officials noted that a number of victims remain trapped beneath rubble or lying in areas inaccessible to rescue teams, as ambulance and civil defense crews continue to face difficulties reaching them.
The figures come amid ongoing military operations and a worsening humanitarian situation across the Gaza Strip.
