RAMALLAH, June 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Masked Israeli colonists on Monday attacked the Umm al-Malihat Bedouin community, east of Taybeh town, east of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources.
They said that masked colonists stormed the community and vandalized water tanks and dislodged the main gate and the fence surrounding the community, causing extensive material damage.
The sources added that the attack directly targeted essential facilities on which residents rely in their daily lives, in an attempt to tighten restrictions on them and forcibly displace them from their lands.
The assault is viewed as part of an ongoing series of attacks by colonists against Bedouin and pastoral communities in the eastern areas of the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes. In particular, attacks against Bedouin communities include physical assaults against inhabitants, vandalism of water sources, denying herders access to grazing lands, and the seizure of Palestinian land.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
