Israel steamrolls Palestinians’ lands for colonial road near Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, June 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli bulldozers on Monday steamrolled over Palestinians’ lands near Qalandia refugee camp and the Kafr Aqab town, north of Jerusalem, to construct a new colonist road, according to eyewitnesses.

They said that Israeli bulldozers accelerated tearing up the landscape as part of a 3.3 Km stretch of colonial road known as "Highway 45," which will link several colonies to north of Jerusalem and east of Ramallah to occupied Jerusalem and extends to the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area inside Israel.

They added that over 280 dunums of land were seized from Palestinian landowners to make room for the highway as part of wider colonial schemes aimed at establishing territorial contiguity between and expanding Israeli colonies in this area, thereby further isolating Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings and advancing annexation schemes.
