Israeli army detains 10 Palestinians, raids homes in West Bank, Jerusalem

RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 20, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli army units detained in raids across the West Bank and Jerusalem early Thursday at least 10 Palestinians and raided and searched homes, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

It said the army raided Kobar, a village north of Ramallah, specifically the home of Saleh Barghouti, who was reportedly killed last week in an Israeli army ambush near Ramallah.

The army searched and ransacked the Barghouti home while interrogating family members for hours. They also inspected the home in order to demolish it and opened holes its walls. Omar Barghouti, Saleh’s father, is being held in Israeli custody.

The PPS said the army also detained four people from Kobar, including a 19-year old teenager.

The army had also detained Kifah Salah Eddin, from Hizma, a village east of Jerusalem, and held her for several hours before releasing her. Salah Eddin’s son, Mohammad, is held in Israeli prisons.

The PPS said five other Palestinians from occupied Jerusalem were also detained in overnight raids at their homes, including a father and his son from Issawiyeh neighborhood.
