Death toll across Gaza Strip surges to 55,493, over 129,320 injured

GAZA, June 17, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources in Gaza announced on Tuesday that the death toll from Israel’s ongoing aggression on the Strip has risen to 55,493, the majority of whom are women and children, since the start of the war on October 7, 2023.

The total number of injuries has reached 129,320, with many victims still trapped under rubble, inaccessible to rescue due to continued Israeli bombardment.

In the past 24 hours, 61 Palestinians were killed, including six bodies recovered from under debris, and 397 others were injured.

Since March 18, when Israeli forces violated a declared ceasefire, a total of 5,194 Palestinians have been killed and 17,279 injured. According to medical sources, over 397 Palestinians have been killed and over 3,000 wounded while attempting to collect humanitarian aid, including 53 fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours.
