Israeli forces detain 30 Palestininans in the West Bank

RAMALLAH, June 17, 2025 (WAFA) - From yesterday evening until Tuesday morning, the Israeli occupation forces launched a massive detention campaign across the West Bank governorates, targeting at least 30 citizens, including children, in addition to former prisoners.

According to the Commission of Detainees' and Ex-Detainees' Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS), the occupation forces continue to escalate detention and field investigations in the West Bank at a relatively rapid pace, compared to the days preceding the outbreak of the war between Iran and the occupation.

The detention and field investigations targeted many citizens, under the pretext that they had video footage on their phones of missile launches, or other material deemed "incitement" on social media.

They explained that the continued detentions come in light of the ongoing genocide against Palestinian people in Gaza, which has lasted for more than a year and a half, and the comprehensive aggression waged by the occupation in the West Bank.

It is noteworthy that the occupation has adopted a series of policies and crimes in the various areas it invades and carries out arrest operations in the West Bank. The most prominent of these policies are: systematic field investigations that have targeted hundreds of citizens, including entire families; the detention of citizens as hostages; the conversion of homes into military barracks after forcing their owners to leave and relocate to other areas; the deliberate destruction of infrastructure; and field executions and assassinations.

It is worth noting that the arrest campaigns and accompanying field investigations, as well as the actions the occupation is waging against Palestinian people, are an extension of the war of extermination.

Detention operations have been, and continue to be, the most prominent, consistent, and systematic policies employed by the occupation to undermine any escalating resistance against it.
