JERUSALEM, Thursday, November 15, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli police raided early Thursday the home of Abdul Rahman Ali Abu Jamal in Jabal al-Mukabber neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem, who police accuse of attacking and stabbing police officers the night before, and detained his mother, Ulfat, according to local sources.
Police claim Abu Jamal attacked officers in a police station in an illegal settlement built on Jabal al-Mukabber land, lightly injuring two policemen before he was shot and critically injured. He was later reported to be in stable condition at an Israeli hospital, where he is being held.
According to the local sources, police raided the Abu Jamal home during the early hours, searched it thoroughly, ransacked it and interrogated his entire family before detaining his mother. They also told the family that their house will be later demolished.
Usually Israel punishes the entire family and even the neighborhood and often entire town residents for the act of one person, a step seen as a vindictive and vengeful act.
