RAMALLAH, February 14, 2016 (WAFA) - The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Palestinian Territory decreased in January 2016 by 0.66% compared to December 2015, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said Sunday.
It said CPI decreased by 0.64% in the West Bank, 0.70% in the Gaza Strip and by 1.67% in Jerusalem.
CPI during January 2016 increased by 0.71% when compared to January 2015; it increased by 0.35% in the Gaza Strip, and by 1.57 in the West Bank, while it decreased by 1.21% in Jerusalem.
The change in CPI for January was attributed to changes in prices of potatoes and other tubers, eggs, liquid fuel for house, fresh poultry, liquid fuel for cars, fresh vegetables, milk products, and fresh fruit, which decreased by 13.13%, 8.17%, 6.68%, 5.16%, 4.89%, 3.96%, 2.47%, and by 1.85%, respectively.
Changes were further attributed to the increase in prices of fresh vegetables by 3.03%.
