RAMALLAH, July 22, 2025 (WAFA) – At least 21 children have died from starvation and malnutrition across various areas of the Gaza Strip in the past 72 hours, according to medical sources.
The deceased children were brought to hospitals including Al-Shifa in Gaza City, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, and Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, the sources reported.
Medical officials cautioned that cases of severe hunger and malnutrition are arriving continuously, warning of a looming “terrifying surge in fatalities” as the humanitarian crisis worsens due to the Israeli-imposed blockade and ongoing military escalation.
Over 900,000 children in Gaza are currently facing hunger, with at least 70,000 entering the stage of clinical malnutrition.
They also stressed that the lives of patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes and kidney disease are increasingly at risk, as many are suffering dangerous complications triggered by prolonged starvation.
“The deliberate starvation of civilians is causing widespread medical emergencies,” one health worker said. “This is not just a crisis—it is a collapse of human survival conditions in Gaza.”
