RAMALLAH, July 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Jordan’s King Abdullah II reiterated the urgent need for intensified international efforts to halt Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip and to ensure uninterrupted humanitarian and medical aid reaches civilians across the besieged territory.
The remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday in Ottawa with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, marking their first official engagement since Carney assumed office, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).
King Abdullah praised Canada’s humanitarian role in Gaza, emphasizing its importance as a key partner to Jordan in advancing peace and regional stability.
He also called for an end to the escalating Israeli aggression in the West Bank and across the wider region, warning of the dangers posed by the continued escalation. The king underlined that respect for national sovereignty remains a fundamental prerequisite for any political horizon that could lead to a just and lasting peace.
Reaffirming Jordan’s unwavering stance, King Abdullah stressed the importance of supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, reiterating that the two-state solution remains the only viable path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
