Colonists attack farmers in Burqa under military protection

RAMALLAH, August 29, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, on Saturday evening.

Head of the Burqa village council, Sayel Kanaan, told WAFA that colonists stormed the eastern outskirts of the village and attacked farmers while they were working their land. They also damaged the tires of a farmer's vehicle and attempted to smash and set it on fire.

The colonists fired live ammunition during the attack and in the vicinity of a public park in the area, causing panic among residents. No injuries were reported.

Israeli forces raided the village simultaneously, deploying across several areas to provide protection for the colonists. No detentions were reported.

Another group of colonists attempted to enter the village from the southern side, but locals confronted them, with no injuries reported.
