Israeli forces attack visitors at Solomon’s Pools tourist site near Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, June 12, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Friday evening attacked Palestinian visitors at the Solomon’s Pools, a tourist site located between Al-Khader and Artas, south of Bethlehem, according to a local source.

He reported that the occupying forces stormed the site, deploying foot patrols and unleashing barrages of tear gas and stun grenades at visitors, causing several people to suffocate.

He added that during ensuing confrontations, the gun-toting soldiers intensively fired tear gas and stun grenades, closed off the site, and restricted the movement of Palestinians.

He noted that the occupation forces and colonists have recently stepped up their repeated incursions into the site, including attacks on Palestinian residents and visitors.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.

Israel uses the Jewish nationalist name “Judea and Samaria” to refer to the occupied West Bank to reinforce its bogus claims to the territory and to give them a veneer of historical and religious legitimacy.
