GAZA, May 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Five Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Saturday in a series of Israeli air and artillery strikes targeting various areas in Gaza City and Khan Younis, according to local sources.
A drone strike east of Gaza City hit a group of civilians on Al-Shaaf Street, killing four people and injuring others. At the same time, Israeli artillery shelled the neighborhoods of Al-Shuja’iya, Al-Shaaf, and Al-Tuffah east of the city.
In a separate incident, a Palestinian identified as Ahmad Iyad Al-Sharif was killed, joining five of his family members who had been killed earlier in the day when their home was bombed by Israeli warplanes in Khan Younis.
Additionally, a 50-year-old Palestinian woman succumbed to injuries she sustained in a previous Israeli airstrike in western Khan Younis.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 53,901 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 122,593 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
