AMMAN, May 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his German counterpart Johann Wadephul stressed on Thursday the urgent need for international cooperation to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The call came during a phone conversation between the two ministers, in which Safadi congratulated Wadephul on assuming his new post, according to a statement issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two officials discussed efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and emphasized the importance of ensuring the success of those efforts. They also underscored the critical need to facilitate the immediate and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid and to advance a meaningful and effective path toward a just and comprehensive peace.
Minister Safadi reaffirmed that the two-state solution — the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel — remains the only viable path to achieving peace.
He called for a collective international push to achieve an immediate ceasefire and to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to address the unfolding disaster caused by the ongoing Israeli aggression.
