Israeli forces detain 20 Palestinians from the West Bank

RAMALLAH,  May 22, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) stated that the Israeli occupation forces detained 25 citizens from various areas of the West Bank last night.

The PPS stated in a statement issued today that the detention campaign targeted a number of prisoners released as part of the recent exchange deal.

The organization added that this escalation comes within the context of a systematic policy, a clear and new violation of the deal, and a new message to all released prisoners: they will remain under attack and persecution.

He continued, "Over the past period, the occupation has detained 13 released prisoners, 7 of whom were retained in detention, and six of whom were transferred to administrative detention.

Today, with the detention of another number of them, the number of detentions among released prisoners has risen to 19.

This figure includes those who were arrested and kept in detention by the occupation, as well as those who were subsequently released.

The PPS issued a statement yesterday reviewing the fate of a number of those detained, specifically those who were transferred to administrative detention, numbering 6, the most prominent of whom is prisoner Wael al-Jaghoub from Nablus, who spent 23 years in occupation prisons.
