GAZA, May 18, 2025 (WAFA) – At least 15 Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Sunday afternoon as Israeli occupation forces renewed their heavy bombardment across various areas of the Gaza Strip.
In northern Gaza, a Palestinian, Marwan Al-Ajrami, was killed after being targeted by an Israeli drone strike in the Al-Amoudi area west of the town of Beit Lahiya. Two more people were killed and several injured in an airstrike on the nearby Tel al-Zaatar neighborhood.
A number of civilians were also injured when Israeli forces struck a civilian vehicle near the western roundabout in Beit Lahia.
In Jabalia refugee camp, Israeli drones opened fire on shelters housing displaced families. While the exact number of casualties remains unknown, five bodies were confirmed to have arrived at Kamal Adwan Hospital following multiple airstrikes across northern Gaza.
In Gaza City, one person was killed and two others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Shuja'iyya neighborhood. Another person was killed in the Al-Twam area in the northern part of the city, following a drone strike, with the body transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital.
In the central Gaza Strip, several people were wounded when Israeli artillery shelled the area near the Tawashi junction, northeast of Deir al-Balah. This was followed by an airstrike on the southern part of the city, resulting in the killing of another Palestinian and multiple injuries.
Additionally, 60-year-old Salem Salim Abu Farraj was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Matahin area, southeast of Deir al-Balah.
In Khan Younis, southern Gaza, brothers Atef and Walid Ibrahim Tawfiq Abdul Ghafour were killed when an Israeli strike hit a tent sheltering displaced people in the town of Al-Qarara, northeast of the governorate.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 53,339 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 121,043 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
