GAZA, May 18, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation army has surrounded the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza Strip, and is firing live bullets at anyone moving near or within its premises, according to medical sources.
The sources reported that Israeli drones targeted the hospital’s intensive care unit, wounding one patient near the facility.
Conditions are also described as dire at Al-Awda Hospital in Tel al-Zaatar, east of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, with the situation there reportedly similar to that at the Indonesian Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital in Khan Younis announced yesterday the suspension of all surgical operations until further notice due to extensive damage caused by Israeli shelling near the facility.
The hospital administration reported that the attack disabled the main generators and the central electrical control panel, in addition to causing severe destruction across multiple departments.
The hospital reiterated its urgent appeal to international organizations and concerned bodies to provide protection for medical facilities and uphold international law, which prohibits the targeting of hospitals.
Just two days ago, the World Health Organization stated that more than 10,000 patients in Gaza — including at least 4,500 children — are in urgent need of medical evacuation.
