GAZA, December 8, 2024 (WAFA) – At least several Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed or injured in airstrikes carried out by Israeli warplanes early this morning in Gaza City and the central Gaza Strip.
Local sources reported that five people were killed and others injured when Israeli fighter jets targeted a tent shelter in the Al-Masha'ala neighborhood, southwest of Deir al-Balah. The tent was sheltering displaced families in the area, and the airstrike caused widespread devastation.
In Gaza City, an Israeli air raid struck an apartment housing the Al-Ghafri family, near Al-Yarmouk Mosque. One woman was killed in the attack, and several other people were wounded. The apartment was severely damaged, and nearby structures also sustained significant damage.
Further south, in the Rafah area, Israeli occupation forces demolished residential buildings in the Al-Mawassi coastal region.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 44,664 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 105,976 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
