JERUSALEM, October 11, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists tonight surrounded the Bedouin communities of Al-Mahtoush and Al-Tabna, located east of Jerusalem near the Khan al-Ahmar area, with barbed wire. The move aims to besiege the two communities, restrict the movement of Palestinian residents and herders, and sever vital links between them.
The Jerusalem Governorate said the move comes amid ongoing attacks targeting the two communities, including blocking and closing roads, preventing herders from reaching grazing lands, damaging water lines, and writing racist slogans near the communities. These actions further tighten restrictions on residents and threaten their continued presence on their land.
The governorate added that encircling the two communities with barbed wire restricts the movement of residents and herders while allowing colonists to expand their movements, as part of practices targeting Bedouin communities and threatening to forcibly displace their residents.
Bedouin communities around Jerusalem and in the Jordan Valley face attacks and restrictive measures that undermine residents’ livelihoods, particularly herding and access to water sources and grazing lands. Palestinian communities in these areas also face growing risks of demolitions, forced displacement, and restrictions on urban expansion.
