JENIN, October 12, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation bulldozers began constructing a new road today, Monday, connecting the Al-Jabriyat military post to the Jenin refugee camp. This follows the seizure of 741 square meters of privately owned land in the area under the pretext of military necessity.
The construction of the road follows a disclosure made on October 6 by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission. The Commission revealed that occupation authorities had issued a new military order—designated "33/26 Immediate/Urgent" and dated October 5, 2026—to seize land in the Al-Jabriyat neighborhood of Jenin, an area classified as "Area A."
According to the Commission, the order targets 0.741 dunams (equivalent to 741 square meters) across plots 41, 42, and 50 of Basin No. 20071; the accompanying map depicts a narrow strip following the route of a road within the neighborhood.
The Commission explained that comparing the maps of the new order with those of a previous military order (No. 70/26, issued on May 7, 2026, which targeted 7.247 dunams in the same basin) revealed a limited, partial overlap.
The western end of the new route intersects with the corridor covered by the previous order before extending eastward beyond its boundaries, meaning the entire newly targeted area does not represent a net increase over the previously targeted land. It indicated that the new order remains in effect for 60 days from the date of its signing and sets a 24-hour deadline for lodging objections following the site visit with landowners—down from the seven-day window allowed under the previous order, which was originally set to expire at the end of 2031.
The Authority warned that the implications of this measure extend beyond the specific land being targeted; the danger lies in the interconnectedness of the land parcels and corridors covered by these military orders within the Palestinian urban fabric, thereby expanding military control over the land and movement routes in the Al-Jabriyat neighborhood, which is situated within the area classified as "Area A."
